First edition. Illustrated with thirty-six plates of engravings from original paintings from many artists. Collated complete. Characters include: Flora MacIvor, Miss Vere, Lucy Ashton, Rebecca, and Eveline Berenger. Each illustration has a matching description in text. Inspired by the works of Sir Walter Scott, a Scottish historian, novelist, poet, and playwright.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Front joint starting to the tail of the spine but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Contemporary ink inscription to front endpaper.
