A handsome prize binding of this book on mechanical engineering by Robert Willis. Robert Willis was an English academic. He was a Jacksonian Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy at University of Cambridge. This is a full calf prize binding with a gilt crest on the front board: 'Blackheath Proprietary School, Docendum et Discendum'.

Condition

Bound in full calf prize binding from Blackheath Proprietary School. Externally, a lovely copy with minor shelf wear and rubbing. On the spine, raised bands have some damage. Internally, hinges slightly strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages contain spotting to the first and last few pages, but otherwise are bright and clean.
