First Edition, Very Scarce
The first edition of this very scarce work, rebacked with the original cloth laid down to the boards and the original morocco spine label laid down to the spine. Previous owner's bookplate to the front paste down. A collection of forty-one songs and ballads, relating to the apprentices, trades and general affairs of London. These songs originate from the fourteenth, fifteenth and sixteenth century, and were compiled by the Scottish author, poet and journalist Charles Mackay (1814-1889). This work is now vanishingly scarce.
Condition
Rebacked with the original cloth laid down to the boards and the original morocco spine label laid down to the spine. Externally, generally smart, with faint marks to the boards and a little shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
