Defoe's popular story of Robinson Crusoe, initially published in 1719, is one of the most widely published books in the world. An uncommon William Strange edition of this novel with a memoir of the author and embellished with numerous designs after J. J. Grandville, engraved on wood by George Dorrington. 

Condition

Rebound in half calf over marbled boards, marbled endpapers. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear only, lightly rubbed to spine and extremities, minor crack to rear joint, boards holding. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting to occasional leaf, particularly leaves of plates, otherwise pages generally bright and clean.
