Leather Binding

This work comprises a speech given to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the inauguration of the First President of the United States George Washington, which occurred on the 30th April 1789. It was given for the New York Historical Society in New York. 

Written by the 6th President of the United States, John Quincy Adams. 

With the contemporary ownership inscription of James Edward Beers to the front cover, blank and title page.

Condition

In a half calf binding. Externally rather worn; front board is loose, and the backstrip is generally lacking, with just a small portion extant. Extremities are bumped and the boards are worn. Contemporary ownership inscription to the cover label, front blank, and title page. Internally, binding is a little tender. Pages have the odd spot.
