This is a third edition of this quaint and varied dictionary, written by George Crabb (1778-1851), a legal and miscellaneous writer. Crabb also published books on German grammar, English law, and an array of dictionaries regarding history, mythology and synonyms.
Contains 580 woodcut illustrations.
In a full calf leather binding with gilt spine. Gilt emblem of George Heriot's School, Edinburgh is stamped onto the front and back cover, and it reads 'I Distribute Cheerfully'.
Condition
Full calf leather binding. Externally generally smart, some wear to the spine and extremities. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean, very minor spotting to pastedowns.
