An architectural study of the cathedrals of England and Wales, illustrated with sixty-one full page plates to vol. I, II, and III, including frontispieces. Collated, complete.
A historical and descriptive account of numerous cathedrals of England and Wales, each accompanied by some lovely plates depicting both the interiors and exteriors, the drawings made from sketches by Robert Garland and engraved by Benjamin Winkles. Including chapters on Canterbury cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral, and Oxford Cathedral among others.
Condition
In the original publisher's full cloth binding with new endpapers. Volume III was rebacked with the original boards and spine restored. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Minor cracking to the rear joints of volume I, with a minor horizontal tear to the cloth to the spine. Publisher's slip tipped in to the front free endpaper of volume I. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint spotting to the occasional leaf, particularly to the leaves of plates, although, generally, the pages are bright and clean throughout. Illustrated with sixty-one full page plates to vol. I, II, and III, including frontispieces. Collated, complete.
