Illustrated, Leather Binding, Scarce

Scarce, particularly with all four volumes present. Bound from the parts, with a general title page to each volume. Two hundred and nine issues bound across the four volumes, as issued.

With a frontispiece of Napoleon to volume four and vignette engravings throughout. Lacking the frontispiece to volumes one, two and three.

Volume one published later, in 1840. with volumes two and three published in 1838 and volume four published in 1839. Volume one first published in 1836.

A scarce periodical detailing The Napoleonic War, including issues relating to The Battle of Trafalgar and The Siege of Gibraltar, as well as memoirs of William IV, The Duke of Wellington and Lord Viscount Nelson, as well as a chronological history of Napoleon. A scarce set of this interesting periodical.

Condition

In half morocco with marbled boards. Externally generally smart with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, heavier to the occasional leaf and the first and last few pages. Marginal age toning.
