What Our Customers Say...
The second edition, published in the same year as the first edition.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, and five plates.
Rebound in a modern cloth, retaining the original publisher's rear board.
A humorous and satirical work about young women, advising for their conduct in life and analysing their habits and characteristics. An entertaining satire volume that showcases the societal opinions and expectations of women as Queen Victoria came to the throne.
Chapters include 'The Young Lady Who Sings', 'The Romantic Young Lady', 'The Plain Young Lady', 'The Natural Historian Young Lady', and more.
Written in the vein of Charles Dickens' similar work 'Sketches of a Young Gentlemen'. Though these two volumes are commonly seen together, 'Young Ladies' is in fact penned by Edward Caswall as 'Quiz', not Dickens.
Illustrated by Hablot Knight Browne, or 'Phiz'.

Minor marks to the boards and spine, a little heavier to the original rear board. Front hinge is starting a little to the head but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age toned with just a few scattered spots.
