Early Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Very Scarce

Very scarce edition of The National Gallery Volume I in half morocco binding and cloth boards. 

With only one other copy held in libraries. Undated, dated 1836 from Jisc. No title page as issued. 

A lovely catalogue of the exhibits at the National Gallery. 

Illustrated with fifty eight full page engravings and a frontispiece. Collated, complete.

Prior owner's book plate to the first free endpaper. From the library of Robert Berkeley of Spetchley (1898-1969) who was a High Sheriff of Worcestershire and Deputy Lieutenant of the county in 1952. 

Condition

In half morocco binding and cloth boards. Externally, smart. There is some bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some rubbing to the extremities of the leather. Prior owner's book plate to the first pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean with the occasional light spot.
