Description

Leather Binding, Rebound

Collection of memoirs originally published in Italian under the title Le Mie Prigioni, telling of the author's misfortunes. The pamphlet contributed to the Italian unification against Austrian occupation, and was translated into various European languages.

Written by Silvio Pellico of Saluzzo, Italian writer and poet. 

This edition translated to English, two volumes in one with volume II containing additions with a biographical notice of Pellico by Piero Maroncelli.

Condition

In half calf binding over marbled boards. Externally sound with shelf wear, chipped to head and tail of spine and extremities, spine and boards rubbed and lightly scuffed. Front hinge starting. Binding generally firmly bound. Odd light spotting to odd leaf, pages otherwise bright and clean.
