Produced by Pierre-Claude-Victor Boiste, a French lexicographer best known as the editor of the Dictionnaire Universel de la Langue Francaise. Previously held in the library of Sir Gilbert Frankland Lewis, a British clergyman and writer.

Condition

In the original half calf with green cloth boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. The odd mark to the board. Minor loss to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd handling mark. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
