What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding
Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. Complete in two volumes. With a forgery of a letter by Coleridge dated 1818 to the first four pages of volume I. The letter is to the endpapers and half title page. The letter is addressed to Mr Collins esq. Given that the text was published in 1836 and Coleridge died in 1834 it is highly unlikely that this letter is by him. Samuel Taylor coleridge was an English poet, literary critic and philosopher. He founded the Romantic movement along with his friend William Wordsworth. He is best known for his poems The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan as well as his influential critical works.
