First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
Very scarce. Henry Liverseege was a prolific artist who, during his short-lived career, often depicted scene from literature and folklore. This is evidenced throughout this volume with many of the illustrations featured being depictions of scenes from the plays of William Shakespeare and other literary works. Illustrated with a frontispiece, thirty two plates and the vignette title page. Collated, incomplete. Lacking 3 plates titled 'Weekly Register', 'The Inquiry' and 'My Ladies Page' according to the prefatory list of plates.
Condition
In a full cloth binding. Externally smart, light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and also to the extremities. With patches of rubbing to the extremities. Internally firmly bound. Pages are lightly age toned, but generally clean with the occasional spot.
