What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Rebound

Table talk is a particular literary genre: it consists of the sayings of a particular person, recorded for posterity. It has its roots in classical literature, where the comments and thoughts of thinkers as expressed at partiuclar symposium would be recorded. Samual Taylor Coleridge was, along with WIlliam Wordsworth, one of the founders of the Romantic movement in poetry. He was one of the so called 'Lake Poets'. His most famous works include The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Kahn. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist.

Condition

In a cloth binding. Externally very smart, with very little bumping to the extremities and some wear to the head and tail of the spines. The hinges are tender but still reasonably firm. Internally a little age tone towards the edges, but otherwise generally clean and bright throughout. Page 5/6 of volume one has a small tear with minor loss, which does not affect the text. The stamp of the Selbourne library can be found to the bottom of page 51 in volume one. Generally firmly bound.
