Scarce editions of Bent's Literary Advertiser collected together in cloth bindings.
Register of Engravings, Works of the Fine Arts, Etc.
Two volumes, one of which spans from 1835 to 1840, and the other from 1841 to 1847.
An early nineteenth century English book trade journal, founded by cataloguer William Bent. On his death in 1823 the advertiser was continued by his son.
A scarce collection, with only twelve collections like this held in libraries.
Condition
In cloth bindings. Externally, fair. The front board to 1841-47 is detached. There is some bumping to the heads and tails of the spines and to the extremities. There is some loss to the cloth in these areas. The hinges are strained but firm. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are generally bright and clean with some spotting throughout and light age toning.
