George Cruikshank (1792-1878) was an important British caricaturist and illustrator known for his illustrations for Charles Dickens. His caricatures were often aimed as being social or political commentaries, and he became the most popular satirist of his day; he was bribed by the Royal Family to never depict King George IV in any 'immoral' situation.

A first edition of this work.

Illustrated with Cruikshank's charming cartoons in black and white throughout.

Bound with the original stiff card wrappers within.
