New edition. Featuring a frontispiece of John Walker engraved by R. Hicks. To which are prefixed, "Principles of English Pronunciation", "Rules to be observed by the Natives of Scotland, Ireland, and London, for avoiding their respective Peculiarities","Directions to Foreigners, for acquiring a knowledge of the use of this Dictionary" and "The whole interspersed with Observations, Etymological, Critical, and Grammatical".
Condition
In a tree calf binding with gilt design and lettering to the spine. Externally, light marks and rubbing to the rear board, and wear to the spine. Back strip is lifting and both joints are cracked and strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright, with spotting to the frontispiece, and the occasional spot scattered throughout.
