Extracts from the reports made by the Royal Commissioners into the operation and general state of the poor laws across the country. 

The work makes reference to the Swing Riots that had happened in 1830, leading to the implementation of the 1832 Royal Commission into the Operation of the Poor Laws.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, smart. With marks to the boards and an ink inscription to the front board. Rubbing and slight bumping to the extremities, heaviest to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with light spotting to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown.
