A scarce work. The first edition of this work. Volume XXVI in Dionysius Lardner's influential 'Cabinet Cyclopaedia', a series of books totalling one-hundred and thirty-three volumes. A detailed work on porcelain and glass, discussing the history and manufacture, and the improvements that were happening in the industry contemporary to this book being published, and the possibility of future improvements being made. Illustrated with in-text engravings. Edited by Dionysius Lardner, who is best known for this extensive series. Rebound in a cloth binding. Externally, smart. A very small amount of bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean with the odd spot and mark. The odd ink mark to the margins.
