Walter Scott is best known for his historical novels and poems, including 'Waverley', 'Ivanhoe', and 'The Lady of the Lake'. 'The Lay of the Last Minstrel' was the first poem of his that brought him into the spotlight of the public's eye, establishing him as one of the most popular writers of his time.

With a frontispiece. Nicely bound with the front board enveloping the text block probably to enable this book to be taken on walks and read whilst contemplating the scenery.

Condition

In the original full calf binding, with the front board folding to envelope the text block. Externally, smart. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Some light rubbing to the spine. A little marking to the boards. Small amount of rubbing to the front board. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with the odd scattered spot.
