The Pilgrim's Progress was originally published in 1678 and it remains the work for which Bunyan is remembered. It is comprised of two parts and is presented in a dream sequence, exploring the notion of good and evil. This work contains a biography of Bunyan, written by Robert Southey.
This details Bunyans interesting and varied life, including his time as a preacher as well as his time in prison.
There are 33 illustrations, made up of wood engravings, copper plates and a frontispiece of John Bunyan. Collated complete.

Condition
In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally smart, rubbed to the extremities and boards. Boards are slightly marked. Slight loss to marbling and leather on front board near corner. Light bumping to head and tail of spine. Front hinge tender after vi. Offsetting and age toning to endpapers. Light spotting to endpapers. Bookplate to front paste down. Internally generally firmly bound. Pages clean with slight age toning and the occasional spotting.
