This is a three volume collection of biologies detailing the nature of insects, their habitats and lifespans. Written by James Rennie (1787-1867), a celebrated Scottish naturalist known for his publications on birds as well as insects. All three volumes were first published in the Library of Entertaining Knowledge, making these editions first thus.

In a half calf leather binding with marbled boards.

Profusely illustrated with vignette engravings.

Condition

Externally lovely, very minor shelfwear to extremities. Internally firmly bound, pages bright and clean.
