This interesting volume pairs the Greek and Latin translations of 'Xenophontis de Cyri Expeditione Commentarii'. In an attractive full calf binding, with gilt crest to both the front and rear boards and a prize bookplate to the front pastedown from the Edinburgh Academy. The Anabasis is the best known work of the Ancient Greek author, Xenophon. This particular work is the Greek and Latin translations of this work edited, translated and with additional notes by Jo. Gottlob Schneider. A handsome copy of this notable work of Greek literature.
Condition
In a full calf binding with gilt detailing to the spine and boards. Externally generally smart. Rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, resulting in a small amount of loss to the head. Patches of rubbing to the front and rear joints, with a crack to the front joint. A small amount of fading to the leather of the front board, to the head. Front hinge is lightly strained. Bookplate to the front pastedown, with light offsetting to the extremities of the front and rear endpapers and pastedowns. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
