This volume presents the following narratives: Lady Graham's Journey in Bengal; Lord Amherst's Embassy to China; Mr. Golownin's Voyage and Captivity in Japan; Mr. Morrier's First Journey in Persia; Mr. Johnson's Journey through the same country, and Captain Beaufort's Voyage in Asia Minor.
The New York Public Library credits authorship to French diplomat and explorer Gaspard Theodore Mollien.
With the bookplate of F. Diba to the verso of the front marbled paper wrap. Diba published a bibliography of Persia in 1981.
A very scarce work gathering together diverse eighteenth and nineteenth century narratives.
Condition
Disbound, loosely inserted in marbled paper wraps, with are in turn held in modern paper wraps with a typed spine label. Bookplate to verso of front marbled paper wrap. Lacking a preliminary blank. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
