First edition of this very scarce work.

An interesting pocket-sized volume explaining the meaning behind many English and Hebrew proverbs, looking at a total of eighty-eight English proverbs, and twenty-two Hebrew proverbs.

By William Carpenter, a theological and political author, remembered today for 'Critica Biblica' and 'Political Letters'.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with some light marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
