What Our Customers Say...
Description
Fine Binding, First Edition
In a lovely polished calf contemporary binding with the crest of George Agar Ellis to the front board. George Agar-Ellis was the 1st Baron Dover. He was a British politician and a man of letters. He was also the First Commissioner of Woods and Forests under Lord Grey between 1830 and 1831. Published anonymously, this work is well attributed to the British army officer and traveller, Joseph Moyle Sherer. Moyle Sherer penned several travel works on India, Egypt and many more locations. He also wrote an historical work titled 'Tales of the Wars of Our Times'. This work discusses many places of Germany and mainland Europe in depth, such as Vienna, German Switzerland, Lugano, Bergamo, Lake Garda, Tyrol and Prague. A fascinating guide to nineteenth century Europe.
