Description
Leather Binding, Original Binding
'Lalla Rookh' is an romance poem by Thomas Moore. It tells the story of Lalla Rookh, engaged to a young king, but falls in love with the poet Feramorz. 'Lalla Rookh' boosted Moore's already promising poetical reputation, making his poetry rival that of Lord Byron and Walter Scott. Thomas Moore was an Irish poet, best known for his poems 'The Minstrel Boy' and 'The Last Rose of Summer' as well as for being the literary executor for Lord Byron, thus burning Byron's memoirs after his death. Some of his other works include 'The Gypsy Prince', 'The Fudge Family in Paris', and 'The Epicurean'.
