'The Ladies' Pocket Magazine' is a London-based periodical, published monthly in a small, slim format. The periodical was priced at sixpence for each issue.

As a periodical it contained a selection of essays, poems, serialised stories, and articles on fashion and history.

'The Ladies' Pocket Magazine' started publication in 1824, and ceased publication in 1840. This was being published in an era where the role of women was beginning to change, from the Georgian era into the Victorian. As Britain moved into the Victorian era in 1837, the role of a women again became more family focused; these periodicals instructed the women in high moral values, whilst containing pieces of low intellectual ability.

The work was printed and published by Joseph Robins.

Publisher's adverts to the rear wraps of Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, and 13.

Prior owner's ink inscription to the head of the front wraps, 'W. Rowlinson'.
