    Description

    First Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Rebound

    First edition. With engraved illustrations integrated with text and with a new section bound in regarding railroads and canals, probably from a more recent edition of the same book, replacing pages 541-556 and differently paginated as 615-621pp. Previous owner's ink inscription to front and to last page of text and with a note from a previous owner inserted.

    Condition

    Rebound in calf with newer endpapers. Externally, sound but with some wear to extremities. Joints starting. Internally, firmly bound. Bright but with occasional slight foxing and handling marks. Loss to title where past inscription is.
