The first edition of this work. 'Aids to Reflection' is a collection of moral and religious aphorisms. The work is intended to be read by those who wish to better themselves morally and spiritually. Written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a poet who is known as being one of the founders of the Romantic Movement in literature. His best known works are 'Kubla Khan', 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner', and 'Biographia Literaria'. With four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. From the library of Jonathan Fletcher Wordsworth, critic and scholar, and descendant of William Wordsworth.
Condition
Rebound in a quarter cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, smart. A little bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small tidemark and discolouration to the spine label. A couple of light marks to the boards. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and generally clean.
