What Our Customers Say...

Description

Fine Binding

This collection was first published in 1744 by Dodsley and collects some of the 'best and scarcest of our old Plays'.

With plays including 'God's Promise,', 'Ferrex and Porrex', 'Cornelia', 'Gammer Gurton's Needle', 'Edward II', 'The Honest Whore', 'The Malcontent', 'The Dumb Knight', 'Lingua', 'The Merry Devil of Edmonton', 'The Widow's Tears', 'Albumazar', 'The Wits', 'The Queen of Aragon', 'The Ordinary', 'The City Night-Cap' and 'Elvira'.

Robert Dodsley was an English playwright, bookseller and poet.

Complete in twelve volumes, and with the errata to the rear of the final volume; this edition is uncommonly found as an entire collection.

A new edition, with notes and corrections by Isaac Reed, Octavius Gilchrist, and the editor.

Bound in a stunning full gilt calf binding.

Condition

In the original full calf binding. Externally very smart, with just some slight occasional rubbing to the head and tails of the spine and to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages have just the odd spot.
