Rebound, Very Scarce
Charles Leslie was an Irish Anglican nonjuror, infamous for the public controversy generated through his writing of various controversial pamphlets. These texts commonly took the form of vicious polemics against Quakers, Jews, Socinians, Roman Catholics, and Deists, two of which are included within this copy: 'A Short and Easy Method With the Deists' and 'A Short and Easy Method With the Jews'. Featuring prior owner's ink inscription to the title page: 'K. Saunders'.
Condition
In a brown cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Lightly rubbed to extremities and head and tail of spine. Lightly sunned to spine and upper extremity of boards. Old ink stain to front board. Offsetting to endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with light spots to fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Pages slightly age toned to edges. Ink inscription by prior owner to title page. Occasional pencil markings, not affecting the text. Occasional uncut pages to upper extremity.
