    First Edition, Signed

    Presentation copy "From her affectionate friend the author." "From the year 1808 to the end of 1814; exhibiting his early character and opinions, detailing the progress of his literary career, and including various unpublished passages of his works. Taken from authentic documents in the possession of the author. In which is prefixed an account of the circumstances leading to the suppression of Lord Byron's correspondence with the author, and his letters to his mother, lately announced for publication." Featuring a facsimile frontispiece.

    Condition

    Rebound in a half tan calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, some light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Minor straining to the front hinge. Internally, firmly bound and bright, with only the occasional light spot. Neat ink inscription to the title page, and armorial bookplate to the front pastedown.
