The fifteenth edition. With the bookplate of Thomas Knowlys Parr to the front pastedown. Parr was an owner of Wymering Manor in Portsmouth. It was a settlement mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and is first recorded in 1042 when it was owned by King Edward the Confessor. Following the Battle of Hastings the work became the property of King William the Conqueror until 1084. Parr was said to be a descendant of both Catherine Parr and Old Tom Parr. This work has a prayer for both the morning and evening for every day in the month. To the preface there is a long discourse on family religion.
Condition
In a half calf binding with cloth covered boards. Externally, very smart with patches of light rubbing to the joints and to the extremities. A few marks to boards. Prior owner's bookplate to front pastedown, Thomas Knowlys Parr. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with spots to endpapers and the odd spots to pages
