A beautifully illustrated treatise on the animal kingdom, looking at birds, fish, insects and many more aspects of the natural world. The work sought to draw together all that was known about the planet and its plants and animals in the late eighteenth century.

Condition
In half calf bindings with paper covered boards. Significant rubbing and small losses of paper to boards. Rubbing to back strips and joints. Joints starting, but firmly held. Significant handling marks to front and rear free endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of significant handling marks. Tide marks to leaf perimeters at rear of volume I, and start of volume II.
