A very scarce first edition thus. In full calf binding. A three volume set of Samuel Stennett's complete works. Collected with a memoir and writings by William Jones, author of 'The History of the Christian Church'. Samuel Stennett was a Seventh Day Baptist minister and hymn writer, whose hymns were published in Rippon's Selection and are preserved in the Sacred Harp. Included in these volumes are Stennett's thoughts on religion, family life and the bible. With an advertisement to the front of volume two.
Condition
In full calf binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with rubbing to the extremities and spine. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. The volume plate of volume one is loosening. Some light spotting to the free endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. Binding slightly strained to the front and rear of the books. Pages generally bright and clean with a few scattered spots and the odd handling mark. Heavier to the title pages. Some creasing to the front blank of volumes one and three.
