'The British Anthology; or, Poetical Library' includes a wide and eclectic mix of poems and poetical works by some of Britain's most acclaimed author and poets. Previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume, with the initials P. F. M.
In uniform morocco binding, with gilt detailing. Externally, smart. Some rubbing to the head and tail of the spine, resulting in some loss to the head of volume I. Rubbing to the joints, extremities, and board, of all volumes. SLight agetoning to the topedge of each volume. Previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. Spotting to the front and rear pastedowns and endpapers of each of the four volumes, most visible to the bookplates. Front hinge of volume II has failed, and had detached from the text body, with the rear hinge firm. As for the remaining volumes, the front of volumes I, III, IV are strained but firm, with the rear hinges still firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally clean, with some slight agetoning. Misprint to the final page of volume II, with the pagination reading 6 rather than 36. The odd spot throughout each volume, heavier to the first and last pages.
