What Our Customers Say...

Description

Very Scarce

'Truth's Triumph' is a compendium of the Muggletonian faith and was intended to combat popular misconceptions about the faith.

He splits the work under eight headings, 'The True God', 'The Two Seeds', 'The Right Devil', 'Predestination', 'The Nature of the Law', 'The Mortality of the Soul', 'The Devil's Torments', 'The Saints' Joys in Heaven'.

Muggletonianism was a small Protestant Christian movement formed by John Reeve and Lodowick Muggleton.  Its last trustee passed away in 1979, when the entire Muggletonian archive of correspondence and general papers were donated to the British library.

The movement began in 1651 when two tailors announced they were the final prophets in the Book of Revelation. They formed from the Ranters and were opposed to Quakers.  The Muggletonians avoided all forms of worship or preaching and met for discussion. Members attained notoriety by cursing individuals who spoke against their faith. It is believed Sir Walter Scott was one of the last people to be cursed.
