Two of three volumes by Gabriel Brotier on the Roman historian and politician Publius Cornelius Tacitus. Published in Latin. It was Brotier's work that helped establish Tacitus' reputation as one of the greatest Roman historians, and in this volume that is accompanied by notes, supplements and dissertations, Brotier sews together the fragments handed down to us from antiquity.
