What Our Customers Say...

Description

Leather Binding, Uncommon

Two of three volumes by Gabriel Brotier on the Roman historian and politician Publius Cornelius Tacitus. Published in Latin. It was Brotier's work that helped establish Tacitus' reputation as one of the greatest Roman historians, and in this volume that is accompanied by notes, supplements and dissertations, Brotier sews together the fragments handed down to us from antiquity.

Condition

Rebacked in a brown leather binding. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, with some light bumping to the extremities. One of the extremities to the front board of volume II is lacking a little calf. Internally, generally firmly bound, with restored endpapers. The gutter is visible between pages 4 and 5 of volume II.
