Description

Written by Thomas Moule (1784-1851), an antiquarian, map-maker and writer on heraldry.

With an inscription denoting that it is ex libris Corby Castle, the ancestral home of the Howard family, a prominent noble family founded in 1483, with members having been made martyrs of the Catholic faith and including a Queen Consort to Henry VIII, Lord Admiral, Dukes and Earls.

With an illustrated frontispiece portrait.

Condition

In a quarter cloth binding. Externally generally smart, some sunning to the spine and wear to the boards and extremities. Ownership inscription to the front pastedown. Internally generally firmly bound, pages bright and clean bar the odd spot more prominent to the first and final leaves.
