What Our Customers Say...
Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce
Rare in the publisher's paper boards Tobias George Smollett was a Scottish poet and author. He was best known for his picaresque novels, such as The Adventures of Roderick Random (1748) and The Adventures of Peregrine Pickle (1751), which influenced later novelists such as Charles Dickens. His picaresque style helps bring to life his factual historical accounts, exploring social classes and the corruption of society. Complete in five volumes.
In original publishers bindings. Externally, a trifle rubbed with all joints strained. Volume one's front board is held by the cords only and five is starting, both may detach in the post. Internally, generally firmly bound although loosening in places. Bright pages and intermittently clean with occasional instances of spotting, particular to endpapers.
