The first edition, first issue, with the speech on page 151 starting 'What Crimes' and lasting for five and a half lines.
Half-title is present.

'Marino Faliero, Doge of Venice' is a blank verse tragedy by Byron, inspired when he was looking at portraits of the Doges in Venice in the Palazzo Ducale, and saw that the portrait of Faliero had been blacked out.
Byron's play is set in Venice in 1355, with Faliero having been recently elected as Doge of Venice, and follows Faliero through is failed coup d'etat and subsequent execution.
Including the poem 'The Prophecy of Dante'.
Gift inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, 'To Capt. Ritchie, from his friend, from his friend .... July 1824'.
Condition
In the original publisher's drab boards. Eternally, with small tide marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spine. Joints are cracked. A small amount of loss to the head and tail of the spine. Spine label is worn. Minor bumping to the extremities. Hinges have been reinforced. Prior owner's gift inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Tide mark to the rear endpaper and rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some spots. First few pages unopened to the top edge.
