This is the First edition, second issue of this work. Known as Randolph's scarcer Variant A of this issue. With Doge's speech to page 151 forming 11 lines, and page 101 being misnumbered 110 (Randolph, p.73; Wise II.30.).
Byron gained inspiration for this work whilst examining the portraits of the Doges in Venice and discovering that Faliero's portrait had been blacked out. This play therefore tells the tale of Faliero's fall from power and eventual execution.
A very smart first edition copy of this work, with a custom slipcase.
