Anonymously credited to 'An Officer of the Expedition', authorship has variously been attributed to William Edward Parry, Vilhjalmur Stefansson, William Nelson Griffiths, and others.

An epistolary work arranges in fifteen letters, dated between the 11th May 1819, and the 31st October 1820.

Illustrated with a frontispiece and three further plates. Collated, complete.

The first edition of this account of an expedition in search of the Northwest Passage, describing survival in Canadian waters, ice conditions, and the life of the crew.

Condition

Rebound, in a quarter calf binding with marbled paper covered boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with light spotting and discolouration to perimeters.
