Complete in three volumes.

A topographical work on Italy at the beginning of the nineteenth century.

Morgan looks into the picturesque scenery of the country, as well as its history, culture, and society.

Lord Byron was a fan of this work, testifying to its justness in its depiction of Italy.

Written by the Irish novelist Lady Sydney Morgan, best known for her novel 'The Wild Irish Girl'. She also published a similar work on France.

Bound without half-titles as usual.

Condition

In the original half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards, rebacked with the original boards an spine restored. Externally, generally smart, with some rubbing to the boards and spines. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few odd scattered spots.
