Early Edition, Illustrated, Leather Binding

A very scarce, early edition of The Shipwreck of The Alceste, an English Frigate, In the Straits of Gaspar; also, The Shipwreck of the Medusa, a French Frigate, on the coast of Africa, with observations and reflections and published by C, Bentham. 

The work contains an eye-witness narrative and account of the two shipwrecks mentioned in the title. 

With a frontispiece and four plates. With a previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper for William Payne, 1832. 
Collated, complete.

Condition

In full calf binding. Externally, a little worn to the boards and spine with some fading to the extremities and joints and some wear to the head and tail of the spine. With a previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper for William Payne, 1832. Both hinges are starting but remain firm. Internally, firmly bound with slightly age toned pages with some scattered spots throughout.
