McLeod gives an account of a voyage undertaken whilst Lord Amherst's embassy was in China, with details of the return journey, where the ship called at Rio de Janeiro, Cape of Good Hope, Manila and Java before striking a reef.

With the bookplate of Egerton Parker to the front pastedown, and the inscription of W. Thursfield, dated 1855, to the head of the title page.
Loosely inserted is a credit note for the 4th Assam Rifles Canteen, dated 1925.

Condition
Rebound in half calf, with paper covered boards and endpapers renewed. Externally, exceptionally smart, with light fading to back strip head. Bookplate to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Inscription to head of title page. Pages generally clean and bright, with only the odd spot.
