An interesting work of military history, discussing the rigid regulations and instructions for Cavalry sword exercises of those in the military at the beginning of the nineteenth century, only a few years after the ending of the Napoleonic Wars.
The anonymous author of this work proclaims that it is essential for officers to be trained thoroughly in sword exercises on foot, before practicing on horseback. This work guides the reader through many exercises, from the most basic to the more elaborate.

Condition
In the original paper covered boards. Externally, worn, with tide marks to the head of the boards. Light marks and spotting to the boards, including a faint ringmark to the front board. Rubbing had resulted in a little loss of paper to the extremities. Lacking most of the backstrip. Joints and hinges are strained. Tide mark to the front paste down and front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean. Tidemark to the head of the textblock, a little heavier to the first few pages, including the frontispiece. Closed tear to the frontispiece.
