Dumont provided Quesne with a detailed account of the lives of Christian slaves in Arica - including their diet and clothing - and their treatment at the hands of their masters.

A fascinating first hand account of the enslavement of a French national in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century.

Condition

Rebound in quarter morocco, with marbled paper boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page, with minor discolouration to perimeters of final leaf. Pages otherwise clean and bright.
